Not every season makes sense while you are living through it. Faith reminds us that uncertainty does not mean God has stopped working.

There are seasons of life that seem easy to understand.

Doors open.

Prayers are answered.

Things begin falling into place.

Then there are other seasons.

The ones filled with waiting.

Questions.

Unexpected changes.

Closed doors.

Plans that did not happen the way we expected.

Those seasons can test what we really believe.

It is one thing to trust God when we can clearly see where everything is going. It takes a deeper kind of faith to trust Him when we cannot.

Sometimes we want God to give us the entire plan.

Instead, He gives us enough strength for today.

We want certainty.

He teaches us trust.

We want immediate answers.

He develops patience.

We want the situation to change.

Sometimes He begins by changing us.

That does not mean every difficult experience was sent to teach us a lesson. Life can be painful, complicated, and unpredictable.

But even in those moments, God does not lose His ability to meet us there.

He is still God when the answer is yes.

He is still God when the answer is no.

He is still God while we are waiting.

He is still God when we have questions.

He is still God when we are celebrating, rebuilding, grieving, growing, or simply trying to figure out what comes next.

Our circumstances can change quickly.

God’s character does not.

That is why faith gives us somewhere solid to stand when everything around us feels uncertain.

Maybe you are in a season right now that you do not completely understand.

You do not have to pretend that it is easy.

You do not have to pretend that you have every answer.

You can acknowledge the uncertainty and still believe.

You can have questions and still trust.

You can be tired and still have faith.

Sometimes faith sounds less like, “I understand what God is doing,” and more like:

“I don’t understand this yet, but I still know who God is.”

And for today, that can be enough.
